today i did a whole lot of nothing. got up around 8:30-8:45ish. fed the chickens and the cats. i put the bird blanket in the laundry because dude had peed on it. i think that is all i've done all day. i got tired in the afternoon but didn't want my one day off to disappear too quickly. it was just a normal typical lazy day..

had a dream about work.. of course.. but that portion was short (thankfully!!!) 
I was driving back home to the 400-building.. that was my apartment building. I was trying to drive but had a windshield shield on the outside of the window, and my aunt Lolly was trying to remove it but couldn't undo the knot. I stopped at the turnout that we have on Frazier Mtn Park Rd by the 4-way. could not figure out where my 'hazard' lights were but found them on the gear-shifter marked as "ugh".. makes no sense, of course.. what dreams really do??

was dreading work.. like always.. I made it there almost on time today.. only 2 minutes late (better than the typical 5.. or more!)
I know they had an emergency yesterday but at that time I was trying not to focus on their day, and only focus on mine.. my day off.. no working.. 
I found out that they had left work at 11:30PM!! their emergency turned into a surgery.. he wasn't picked up until after 11.
so I wasn't the only one half-asleep.. but I was the only one who they thought would be more awake.. but I wasn't.. 

there was a huge pile of insurance claims to fax, and a few records to fax/email. that took most of my morning -- plus a couple prescriptions. I made it to my 5 hours.. needed to take lunch. Sandy said that DC was thinking of taking us out to lunch.. but she had 2 appointments left.. and I needed to clock out. so I came home for a quick quesadilla.. once I got back to work, 3 minutes later we went to Los Pinos. I got the tres amigos enchiladas: 1 beef, 1 chicken, and 1 cheese with their own individual sauces.. plus beans and rice. I ate half of it and brought the rest for Ronnie. we went back to work and everyone was even more half-asleep from the food. but I finished the files for Monday and started pulling files for Tuesday. 

I put in 8-1/2 hours.. with a weekly total of 32.52.. didn't quite make full-time 😕

October 23rd

another lazy day. didn't feel like doing ANYTHING today.  
we went to bed after midnight.. then i was up again from 4:00-6:10.. i was cold we had the flannel sheets, and then 1 thermal blanket. i could have used another. i got up to go pee and figured i'd grab a blanket when i got back into bed. but i forgot.. then the dogs clobbered on top of me, and i couldn't get a blanket

had a dream we were bombarded at work.. every ever employees who i've worked with was there.. the dream started that ronnie was trying to rent a mobile-mini storage bin, and they had none. turned out they were all at work. there were people everywhere.. in the lobby, in the hallways, in the office. i tried to take my lunchbreak and i couldn't leave out the front door. i went to leave out the side down and there were 3 big dogs growling at me.. so i stayed in the office for lunch. when it got to be 4:30 i realized yay i could go.. then realized -- i don't get off work at 4:30.. i calculated it out as 6 hours (even though it would be closer to 8)

ugh. slept even longer today. snuggled doggies and kitty all morning.. that bird.. 
ronnie was in class.. the bird was lonely..  "hello!"  "hello!"  "hi!" 
i got up at around 9:45 but would rather have still been sleeping snuggled under the covers.

i look and 'feel' like i'm some alcoholic or something.. 
and i'm not! just overworked and over stressed and done.. 

we went in the 'basement' to figure out the pipe heaters. i turned on and off switches in the circuit box to find the one for the garage.. then we figured out what pipe goes to where.. lots of piping under the house. 
then we went to Ace for some supplies.

October 21st

sleepy today.. i was trying so hard not to fall asleep at work yesterday. working 2 days in a row is just near impossible anymore. if i sat at the desk, i wanted to sleep.. but if i was standing up and walking around, my feet and legs hurt. couldn't win either way. 

so want more sleep today. after working over 12.5 hours yesterday, i still was awake after 2am. then back awake by 8. figured i'd take a nap today -- but it never happened. 

met lori for lunch at big jons, and then to the thrift store for some shopping. that was awesome. i haven't seen her in a long while, and needed to get out of the house for something other than work..

today i feel fat.. fatter than usual.. between work stress -- and my love for sugar.. i know i'm more than i was before i lost weight a year ago.. sound crazy but it's true. october 31st/november 1st i started keto and lost 10 lbs.. which i quickly gained back once i stopped cutting back for myself.. and now, i'm more than i was before i started keto. it's not right. 
hopefully it's an off day.. hopefully..
ugh. bloat perhaps? water weight? i don't get menstrual bloat.. (i don't get menstrual..) so can't determine any other reason.. but i also haven't worn tight(er) clothes in awhile. work clothes are baggy (thankfully!)

not sure what i should accomplish today. fed the kitties, and checked on the chickens.. did my laundry. 
today I made the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. i was going to cut them in pieces to make more smaller cookies.. but it is a pack of 24 -- i can't eat 48 cookies (or more!) that fast

October 17th

i got up just before 8 today. so not my norm on a day off work but the doggies would not let me sleep. it was like an earthquake every time they jumped on and off the bed. and then they kept getting excited about the cat and wiggling the bed.. another "earthquake" 

i installed a solar motion light on the front porch. took it out of the chicken shed. they don't use it really so not worth having it there. front porch is much more useful. 

mr grey was trying to be really helpful with the motion light. he was rubbing and rubbing and purring and meowing while i planned out how to install it. took me awhile to plan -- and then i sat with him while the wasps buzzed around 😳

ugh.. this day would not end. 

I woke up at 6:30 with Ronnie but just couldn't stay awake. I was dreaming we were awake talking about things.. things we weren't talking about.. but I just couldn't snap out of it. he got up and showered and prepped for his day. I got up about 45 minutes later. today is his birthday and i couldn't spend it with him.

we had 2 surgeries plus 13 appointments.. 
the scanner does not work anymore.. doesn't connect.. can't scan.. whoa is me.. 

i did so much helping in back i'm physically tired.. psychologically tired.. 
and she was in a mood from the start so that made it totally completely exhausting..

we had a staff meeting that i thought was an osha meeting.. ended up it's not so now i have to carry those papers back and forth in another 2 weeks.. whoa is me.. 

got off work at 9:30.. 8am-9:30pm
tired.. so very tired..

nice sleepy morning. I woke up with him at 7:30.. but was still kind of sleeping and dreaming. I lay in bed with the dogs and kitty for another 1/2 hour.. then I fell back to sleep until 8:30. crawled out of bed and grabbed a cup of coffee.

a lazy day. i thought of things i could do.. but no motivation to :P
such is life.. 

a new avon campaign started today: we're on campaign 23 now
so i got my books ready. the next step is dropping them off at the laundromat.. someday.. whenever 😶

October 13th

power was still out.. took a shower by flashlight-light..
upstairs for a quick breakfast.. my phone had already discharged down to 55% (it was 100% when we unplugged generator last night).
i could not remember if i was scheduled 8:50? or 8:40? or maybe 8:30?

and then the power came on at 8:30.. bummer.. 
I know a surgery was scheduled.. and i was hoping all had been cancelled.. 
no such luck..

it was a crazy day of appointments..
when i got to work, bob was unplugging computers and machines from the generator..
extension cords were everywhere.
i found out from cat that they had continued without power until almost 8..
using 'emergency' backup lamps. 
the generator had been set up for today -- and then power came back..

all monday's appointments had been to rescheduled to today (the clients that were able to).. plus our surgery.
when surgery was done, an emergency was on their way down.
a small chi was very bloated, and not her usual self..
we took xrays and it was determined she probably had pyometra (..intact female..)
we had just come out of surgery, not enough employees for another surgery, and no overnight (or next day) staff..
we kept her comfy while doc called around for another hospital to take her on.
some sub-q fluids to keep her comfy during transit.
by then she'd lost all patience and was very hostile.
boy, was that fun.
thankfully she had been friendly during all our 'maneuvering' and manipulation. 

then i was able to try to prepare all the files for thursday.
as i was prepping them, they'd be making more appointments.
i was finally able to leave at 9:15.. 
doc made another appointment, an admit, at 9:30 after i'd already left..
so, thursday will be 11 appointments, plus a spay surgery, and an admit for xrays and anesthesia and biopsy..
hooray..

thursday is ron's birthday..
i have to be at work at 8 for staff meeting with an osha topic.. 
and 1-1/2 surgeries and 11 appointments (so far..)..
so i won't be coming home early..

October 12, 2020

what a long day.. 
the power went out around 11 for a few minutes. then out again at 11:15 -- and had been out for the rest of the day.

we went to tecuya feed for chicken crumbles earlier in the day.. then lots of up and down stairs to the chickens and throw the ball for doggies.. and feed chickens slop..
and then at 5:30 we went to flying j for gas for the generator.. 
quickly home to set it up, plug in fridges and cell phone charges and some lamps..
lots more up-and-down stairs to look for flashlights (and said lamps)..

ugh.. back to work today..

15 appointments for the day -- turned into 16 appointments plus a euthanasia. 
i was relatively able to stay out of the limelight.. didn't help with too many appointments..
i thought we had a surgery.. but it ended up we did not..

i had emailed paypal execs wednesday night.. then our internet was out all of thursday (until 8am this morning). this morning, one of the girls responded that she had personally investigated my case, and determined it was not unauthorized. then i had disputed it and they determined it was consistent with my prior history of transactions and was again determined to be unauthorized. even though i had disputed it again -- and proceeded to contact cfpb -- still considered as authorized, and not able to be refunded. i replied to their email today stating: 
i had NOT added this card to my account.
this was NOT my visa card.
someone else had added this card to take my money.
then they reopened a case as unauthorized..
so i wait..  

October 8, 2020

what a fun day it was.. no internet.. all. day. long.. 
ronnie cancelled/postponed both his classes for the day.
it went out at 8am.. didn't come back until the next morning..
i was going stir crazy during the day.
i broke down all the cardboard boxes, and we went to recycling center ($74).
we also changed out the (empty) hydroponic bin and moved the tomatoes and peppers and eggplant inside.
i kind of just kept busy as much as possible.
i couldn't work on my pet kits because no internet to even attempt to create a sale post.
all the pics are 'saved' in an email on my phone.. until i can compose something.
i(we) watched "hoaxed" while playing solitaire before bed..

October 7th

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up and just lay in bed for a bit, but I felt rested. 
I got up and fed the cats and woke up a bit more. then we went to the park at 10 (got there at 10).. that was a long process. we got a number and sat back in the car for a bit.. then we got out and walked around.. then we sat on the grass.. then walked to don's liquor.. then back to a picnic table and ate some m&ms with arizona tea. then they started announcing something. that's when we stood in line. the whole deal took 4-1/2 hours! but we got lots and lots of food!!

then I watched  Fire in the Sky (1993) while eating butternutsquash raviolis with canned pasta sauce..

then I went to Nancy Jane's to find out about feeding the cats for 4 days -- Friday - Monday.. 
I was there for about 2 hours talking.. she lives literally 1 minute away.. 
she is going to her grand-daughter's wedding in Utah. she has 2 tan outdoor kitties.. chunk-a-munk..
another lady, Debbie, was there when I got there. I had met her years ago with Dr Gillen. she was there with her 3 kids to give Nancy Jane's dog an injection. Nancy Jane told me after the fact, she felt bad about asking me.. she knows how busy I am, and if I can't do it she understands. for Debbie to do it, she would have to pack up all 3 kids, and drive 'out of her way'.. I told her it is no issue for me as she is 1 minute away, on my way in the right direction. and it gives me a little bit extra money. drive up, scoop up some food, and i'm gone.. that is no trouble at all.

dinner was some yummy shredded fajita chicken with shredded cheese tacos.. yum yum 😋

another fun-filled day at work.. 
I had a pretty good dream overnight, but of course can't remember it now. 
I was enjoying laying in bed, and ended up falling back to sleep and overslept.. oops!
we had a neuter today, a couple blood pulls and nail trims... some progress exams..
it was busy all day long.. only a slight break between appointments.

prepared all the files for the dental hygienist tomorrow.. 
then got in trouble for preparing files she hadn't finished writing in..
dental hygienist records don't interfere with the medical records she deals with.. so..

i had wanted to start pulling files for friday but was so consumed by hygienist.. 
and i was trying to get them all finished so i wouldn't be there "forever"

it was an 11.21 hour day..
yesterday was 11.78.. 
so i'm already at 22.99 and halfway through my work week..
it's going to be a very LONG week.... 

October 5th

I had dreams last night that I was in the spare bedroom of my parents' home.. the home I grew up in.
the desk under the window, my mom's sewing desk, was my work desk.
it would have been more spacious than the work desk I have now..
but in my dream, it was so cluttered, that I had an impossible time trying to make space.
I was trying to send insurance claims and records and couldn't organize myself.. 
then I was trying to work on records for Jaime's dog and cat, a dog and cat she does not even have
(shocking with the 15 cats and 8 dogs she DOES have..)

2nd (or was it 3rd?) appointment of the day was a big puppy with nails.
she came for a nailtrim (among other things) and used her nails to dig into my bug bite on my leg..
so it hurts more than ever now. 
Hydrocortisone cream doesn't work..
Lidocaine gel doesn't work..
I put some calamine on it -- which is CoLd!
but I'll see if that solves anything..

worked 11.78 hours.. 
got home at 9:50.. 

tomorrow seems to be another busy day..
we have a neuter, and 5 morning and 7 afternoon appointments..
I'll see what time I get home this time.. 

Wednesday we go to commodities for food
and I'm meeting up with Nancy Jane so I can feed her outdoor kitties Friday-Monday..

I did not want to get up.. this morning was even harder than the last.  had a few dreams in between waking and sleeping. I slept pretty well, did not wake much -- but when I did my leg was itching like crazy. 
yesterday I had held Charlie on my lap.. then I held the Dude - then my leg was itching. found a long row of bug bites above my right knee. I put hydrocortisone on it but it still itches. overnight, I had none. put some more on first thing this morning.. good thing it's not winter yet because my 1 leg is already cold from lack of pant 😝 I still don't know the cause.. or the source of the bites. the dogs have no fleas or mites.. and our yard is bare, so no allergen plants (made sure of that after Ronnie's ragweed invasion). I can only wonder.

went to the market today. a lot of "closed road" signs in town. this sce project is never-ending.. and every time they put out someone's power, we lose our internet.. today it went out at 11, just as he was finishing his class. then out again at 5.

October 3rd

I slept pretty well last night.. could have slept for even longer. 
I had a dream that started out in my parents' garage.. the garage of the house where I grew up. we were gathering stuff to go on vacation.. perhaps camping but I don't even know.. we left the house with our car full.. with mr Dude in tow.. the driver guy reaches in his pocket, and then yells 'ma!!' and pulls out a wasp, panicking. we pull into a gas station.. kind of rundown place.. hot, dirty.. he jumps into a pool then says "this won't work.. it's in the shade".. then he jumps into a wading pool that had dolphins and stuff in it. we're still sitting there with mr Dude.. in the hot, and the dirty.. a (slutty) lady walks by with 1 red boot on.. mr Dude keeps wandering, getting his leash tangled around things and people.. he's at the street corner and I go down to get him.. a guy says "oh, I think that is his mom.. this is for her" and he hands me the other red boot with money in it. I take it and give it back to her. the driver guy comes out of the pool (he's completely dry!) and tries to grab his duffle bag. it's a big long hanging one, really heavy and he's dragging it back to the car. we stuff it into the back as best we could (it didn't really fit). get back home to an apartment, it's night time.. I asked where we are going next for the vacation, and Ronnie tells me the vacation is done. that costs $300. $300 and I missed it all. he acted like we'd actually gone somewhere, done something.. 

I fed mr Grey going through the side gate to the front porch. and gave the chickens their slop. Bleu is starting to molt now too.. Pink is badly molting, baldly. she looks horrible terrible. Lavender and Emma look the best. I thought Lavender had started molting but she didn't get very far - same with Beauty. and all the other greys the same. our neighbors yard is proof of that though ((sorry, neighbors))

I just wanted to nap all day long.. accomplished absolutely nothing.. no cleaning, no errands, no kits..

I woke up a little early this morning.. still lay in bed until I absolutely had to get up.
I had woken up in the middle of the night, strong urge to cough.
I was trying to swallow and swallow to quietly "fix" my throat.. but it wasn't happening..
I think I did cough once or twice before things started working again. 

I was still sleepy all day long. everyone was dragging because they had an exhausting day yesterday.
with 1 surgery, 1 emergency and 5 admits, on top of the other 9 scheduled appointments..
the vet had made 2 admit appointments, at the exact same time that Sandy had made 2 admit appointments..
I didn't have that excuse.. 

today we had 6 morning appointments (3 were new patients) then a surgery.. and 9 afternoon appointments.
we actually were supposed to have a second surgery.. but the pet was better and they opted to wait it out through the weekend. 

Paypal told me "I am sorry for the inconvenience and trouble this transaction had caused you. we can no longer appeal the claim as we no longer have the option to do so. Still, I will be endorsing this to be reviewed again. Should you need additional assistance, feel free to reply and we will attend to you as soon as we can" -- you can bet your bottom dollar that I replied. I asked why they don't have an option to. I also said that they let someone take my money and they need to make it right -- this is a BIG ISSUE that they need to correct. every time they answer "no" I will fight back until I get the answer I want.

today felt like such a long long day..
wasn't too bad compared to some..
10.82 hours for today..
33.45 for the week..
could have been worse..
much much worse..

I sleep..

October 1st!!

I woke up a lot.. had lots of dreams -- but, of course, can't remember a one.. I got up at 7:34.. get dressed and grabbed coffee before running out the door. 
Ronnie was up at 4, lay in bed until 5, and was at his computer since then..

the staff meeting was pretty normal.. actually ran a little short. the surgery dog arrived at 8:40 so the doc cut things short. in good time too because an emergency walked in the door at 9am. the waiting room was already full of appointments. I was photocopying meeting notes for the 2 'absent' employees.. and then helped get a temperature on the emergency dog. got a low temperature so checked again -- same temp -- but then she pooped on me.. warm diarrhea on my hand 😩😫😣

gave the doggies their heartworm pill, and fed both kitties. those meat bees (wasps? or hornets?) are crazy. I worry Mr Grey will get stung. he shares his can food with them, just kind of eats around them, but I'd hate for him to EAT one.

this day flew by like a meteor. I trimmed Gwen and Dude, and Charlie's legs.. also shaved Gwen's face and belly. I wanted to go to the thrift store for fabric. I wanted to do so many things -- things I never ever do accomplish 😞
