September 30, 2020

I had a dream I was in a big palace mansion place. to get from one place to another, I had to do a puzzle on the wall.. I had a fancy dress at one point too.. we were going out, but then we never went there..

PayPal responded again.. "I can see the transaction for $611.96 that was transferred to a card. Does it mean that the card ending 8 1 6 7 was not yours?" all this time I've said that, and they FINALLY understood! now I wait for the next step.. still hoping I'm actually able to get my money back. I suppose I should plan my next step when I actually do.. where to put the money so it isn't stolen again..

September 29th

5 morning with 2 surgery, and 2 afternoon turned into 5 morning with 2 surgeries and a admit, and 3 afternoon.. not too bad, I was worried it would be worse -- much much worse.

PayPal denied my claim.. so I resubmitted. I don't understand how I can say it was not authorized, I did not request the transfer.. and then they turn around and say it was authorized.. I don't get that..
who authorized it? and why can then transfer money on my account??

I paid the wrong credit card bill. received a notice from navy fed of late payment.. I checked my bank account and I paid a different account (??)  after checking a couple times, and asking a few times, I found out it was Ronnie's card I paid.. he owes WAY more than me.. and the account closed today.. but 2 weeks ago I made a payment on it.. hmmmph

and.. he got served today.. from US Bank. he had 2 court dates he missed, that we/HE never got notice about.. so of course he didn't show up. so he called a bankruptcy court lawyer.. he will need to pay $1850.. which, yay.. but, where is that money coming from?

this year is really killing me..
just 3 more months to go..
I don't know what will happen next..

September 28, 2020

I had dreams last night about work.. but many times I dream about the 400 building of Countrywide/BAC days.. I had current coworkers at different desks but I also had past (way past) coworkers too..  and I had to go get a dog -- from a coworker at one desk -- and take them to a coworker in a different 'department'. it was all very weird but totally made sense at the time.

today was not nearly as stressful as I'd feared -- tomorrow might be though..
12 morning and 5 afternoon == 10 morning+1 admit and 5 (different) afternoon..

I got peed on by an (100 lb baby) intact male. terrified away from his mommy, and very fearful of the doc.. she couldn't even finish her exam so she gave some torbugesic.. then he was so much better.. I held him in my lap for a long while (arm was 'dead'.. legs were 'dead'..) he had a gash on his leg, agent was not sure how he got it (owner is in Mexico for cancer treatments).. and doc is not sure how long he's had it, but it was not brand new yesterday when the agent saw it.. so he got staples, and a bandage to cover so he wouldn't mess with it..

Mr Grey waits for me under the truck, runs across the street as I'm pulling up, and waits at the bottom of the stairs as I walk up.. so fed him a 3rd meal today. still need to fatten him up for winter.. before the cold weather comes.. so he'll be prepared.

September 27th

woke up a couple few times..
had some wild dreams.. chicken run was flooded/swampy. we had lots of chickens, and some ducks
also dreamed Mr Grey was scratching at the door for breakfast.. it was actually just the wind..

I fed the chickens.. I fed the kitties.. gave Gwen and Buckets their lunch..
I cleaned the kitchen.. cleaned cat boxes.. made the bed..

super stressed about work because I think we will be short staffed tomorrow..
Sandy went home sick yesterday.. and chances are she'll still be sick tomorrow..
so Cat would again be on reception, and me and DeAnn on appointments..
I got yelled at a couple times yesterday, and prefer not to relive that.. again..

September 26, 2020

today was an "okay" day. I of course did not want to get up.. like usual.

I made it to work fine and tried to help out where needed.. helping hold for blood pulls, held for a few exams. Sandy started to feel very lousy and so Cat took over reception -- which meant I took over for appointments :/ yuck..

I'm still waiting to hear back on PayPal issues. I received an email today that I had a new message in my inbox -- but that was actually a message I'd already read that they hadn't told me about. so I'm still waiting.

September 25th

didn't want to get up for work..
being home is so nice..
but need to pay those bills..

our internet was out -- again.. and ronnie had a student at 8:30. we drove halfway to my work to get some cell reception so he could contact his student. his student had already reported him, so he is suspended for a week. he has his own scheduled students, but can't get any new ones.. it shows that he is unavailable.. booked..

we HAD 3 admits plus a surgery and 4 morning appointments.. with 4 afternoon appointments..
that turned into 3 (different) admit appts, a surgery, plus 3 other appts, plus an emergency and pts..
then we had 2 afternoon appts and another pts..
woo.hoo..
slight positive that these were not long term patients that we had all built a love for and relationship with..
but sad that we ONLY got to meet them at the end of their life..

and still stressing about paypal money.. and dmv money. i had emailed my family thursday night about it all (everything) because i haven't talked to them in awhile, and let them know an update of what we are dealing with.. my sister emailed back saying that there's not enough empathy in this world.. and then basically called me a "small child".. that "it's called adulting" -- she also said I shouldn't pursue the dmv thing because the post office is busy with voting stuff..

ronnie had also bought a sim card for his phone. so he'd have cell reception to contact his students WHEN the power/internet goes out again. but without internet he couldn't set it up this morning. when i got home from work at night (9:15) i found out it was a defective sim card.. so we are both at ground zero.. me, bad cell phone.. him, bad sim card..

September 24, 2020

woke up a couple times in the night again.. wish I could remember my dreams but they always fade away.

got up at almost 9 am.. I really had to pee and Dude and Charlie were smooshing my bladder. I fed the cats and looked in on the chickens..

Ronnie went into class at 10 and I called paypal.. I called multiple times. however you can't talk to a live person.. it's all automated. I tried requesting "speak to a live representative" but that just got me to "we cannot support your inquiry over the phone at this time".. *click*
I tried calling a corporate number -- but one number ended up being some other random sales company (?) and the other corporate number in San Jose just disconnects -- I tried that number 3 times.
my sister gave me the web site for Consumer Finance to dispute this issue with paypal. I screen-shot emails between me and them.. with me saying it was NOT authorized, and then paypal turning around and saying it was. I had even mentioned in my correspondence that it was a Visa card that is not mine.. I did not add that card to my account. Ronnie tried to call Visa directly but they could not research it without the first 6 digits of the card number - I only know the last 4 digits..

I had planned to run other errands, see a friend.. but this day consumed me, and exhausted me..

during his afternoon classes I dealt with my DMV issue.. I wrote a letter explaining that payment was made on time -- and had to be double paid (unnecessarily).. then I researched what address I would send it to.. that was as much fun as trying to find the customer service number for PayPal..

this is a year I would like to just completely skip.. am I allowed to if it's past the first 90 days? past the first 180? I think we are at day 267 now.. we've already dealt with covid crap for 6 months.. 6 months plus..

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

September 23rd

I woke up at 6:30.. and at 7:30.. Ronnie got up at 8 and I planned to stay in bed until around 8:15.. next thing I knew it was 8:47! :O

so I got up and fed cats.. and fed chickens before camping out at my computer for a few hours. Ronnie started class at 10 so I stayed quiet. when his 11:00 class started I went to Tecuya, and tried to find a hanging feeder, and some pine bedding.. almost there, I got stuck behind a lady who stopped for the peacocks. I figured, ya know, let them pass.. she just stopped there watching them. then finally she drove to Tecuya herself.. her preggo daughter got out with a tank and went inside. she told the lady they were too big (I'm assuming rats?)   the hanging feeder Tecuya had was far too big. and the bedding was far too small.. so I left. as i drove away the girl was walking back through the parking lot with her tank -- but her mom had already driven away when I walked inside..
then I went to Alice's so it wouldn't be a wasted trip. still trying to find a base/platter to use for my bird-bath. I found a PawPatrol backpack and almost bought it, but realized it was ripped.. if I'm able to sell my kits, I'll need more backpacks and supplies. I did find 2 lazy-susan trays.. one was too "slippery" and swirly. the 2nd was larger and silver -- I bought that one. I also found another bread pan. nothing special in blankets or pillows.. I shouldn't really buy anything ever.. but.. oh well.

really trying to limit my carbs. for breakfast I had a protein shake of Avon Espira and chocolate drink mix powder.. also a cup of coffee.
just had "lunch".. turkey breast meat, applewood ham meat, and cheddar cheese with veggie/herb cream cheese in between.. I'm still hungry 😒

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

I used my last Betty Crocker mix. a blueberry muffin packet. I used my brownie pan and put chips in each brownie. 1 white chocolate chip or 1 dark chocolate nugget. I dropped them putting them onto the counter.. so they look horrible now. hope they at least TASTE good..
I gave Mr Grey his afternoon can, and fed the chickens some tuna too. Mr Grey is starting to use his scratchy tree. he lies on the bottom level.. he has a 'crate' cage and his scratchy tree. he likes to lie under the deck in the dirt to avoid the sun. with a big flag shading the scratchy tree, I hope he'll start using it more. it will start getting cold so I have to fix up his crate cage soon.. with more insulation.  I might get a styrofoam container from work and build a kitty garage for him.

tomorrow I think I'll be going back to the thrift shop.. look for blankets and sheets and towels.. and search around some more.. he has 3 classes.. at 10 & 2 & 5.. so I'll go to Alice's at 10.. maybe get that clock I saw..

September 22, 2020

slept pretty well.. woke at 8:30.. lay in bed for a bit snuggling puppies. had a dream we were at the zoo.. a white lion.. i was standing in his pen.. he was watching some people outside the pen. i didn't pet him or touch him -- but he was RIGHT next to me! later on in the dream there were peacocks and other big zoo-type birds, but no lion.. and of course my boss was there.. she's always there 😖

i got a message at 9am from paypal assistant asking what the issue was-- details of the transaction or transfer. i never know how specific i should be.. if i give trans id and such.. or just details of what happened. i gave details of what happened..
and no one has replied.

made new fly trap for the chicken coop. I hope it works..
Fly Trap Recipe: 1/2 c water 1/2 c vinegear 2 tbsp of sugar 1 tbsp of liquid dish soap
I also put new Vanilla 'trees' out to cover the smell. today is the first day of fall, so it shouldn't last too much longer.. but now is better than nothing.

I should work on my baby onesies and pet first aid kits..
there's still the question of.. is it a first aid kit? emergency kit? wouldn't call it an evacuation kit because that usually involves food, water, bowls.. things of that nature.. hmm.. maybe a future venture?

wanted to go to tecuya for stuff.. and the resource center for food -- but seems resource center is out of food already.. we waited too long.. i mean the notice was up since the weekend, and who passes up free food??

glad i'm not at work.. it turned into 13 appointments before lunch.. so far 6 are scheduled in the afternoon..
but 1 morning admit was cancelled and changed to "owner bringing dog back for blood pull".. 3 times
then another added appointment was an admit and there are reminders at a set time schedule to check her blood serum.

September 21st

did not want to get up this a.m..
told myself it is just one day.. boy, was it the longest day..
i got hardly any sleep last night thinking about work.. and paypal..

today was planned out as 11 appointments before lunch and 4 appointments after lunch..
that turned into 8 before, and 5 after..
2 morning appointments cancelled because the owner got a new job.
1 cancelled without explanation..
then another cancelled because her pet went to er, was still at that hospital today..
but we had an admit take one of those open spots.. torn toe nail.. not a friendly dog either..
in the afternoon, a dog came in for bad ear infection.. blood red, with crusty bacteria..

lots of little dogs with tight hold..
my elbow was "screaming" about it all day..

so glad to get some more time off.. 1 work day really wears me out.. it's hard working 2 days in a row.. I'd love to get 1 day at a time.. but that would mean not getting any days together for awhile.. that wouldn't be so awesome either..

still stressing about paypal.. I'm really thinking it is a prepaid paypal card which I do not have..
they determined it was an authorized transaction.. even though I told them it was not..
I submitted an appeal.. I'll see what they say..
I checked my paypal email history.. that card was updated to my paypal on august 20th..
I missed that email..

tomorrow we hope to go to the family resource center for some donated food.
every month we have missed 'commodities' when we could get free food based on income..
he could get free food based on income..
they got a huge donation over the weekend that is too big for their storage ability..
so we will go tomorrow to see what is available..

September 20, 2020

I got up at 8:30 this a.m. Ronnie's class was at 9 and I wanted to be up and dressed before the camera came on.
I fed both cats just as class was starting so I walked back from the front yard, through the side gate and into the back door. then I sat in the kitchen on my phone for a bit.
I kept Gwen from barking twice.. and held Critter for a bit so she wouldn't complain for more food.
once his class was over then I fed the chickens. of course the doggies wanted in on that.. but no slop for them.. and no cat food either.

we finished installing the cameras in the front yard. and 1 in the side yard as well.. tacked all the lines onto the house.. ran all the lines back into the house to the base..

Drowning Mona (2000)

I received an email from PayPal of a successful transfer.. say wha? I didn't request a transfer of anything.
all the money was transferred to a prepaid Visa.. all of it. I called PayPal and reached an automated system. I reported it as an unauthorized transaction. I also removed the card from my "wallet" and changed my password. I can only guess that maybe a prepaid visa was opened in my name.. but I would expect that they would request my approval first.. or ask me if I wanted to do it.. before actually doing it.
this money is all of Ronnie's earnings as a teacher.. so it is not expendable money.. it was hard-earned..

September 19th

I woke up when Ronnie's class (re)started. the internet was out briefly.. and then he reconnected on Skype at 9. the "*ding*" woke me up.. but then I quickly fell back to sleep.
then I woke up again at 11 and flew out of bed. I hate sleeping my whole day away. I always plan to go running on a day off.. can't go too late or it's hot (yes, even when it's "cold") but I never wake up on time -- unless I have to be somewhere, and then I have no time for running.

Ronnie has been working on the security cameras. someone in town had an attempted breakin at 9:30 last night.. even with the dogs barking, and the notice of being armed.. the guy still tried. they called the sheriff who came right out since it was mentioned the homeowner was packing. but the guy was not caught. white, 6'5", bald head, black clothing. people are very persistent. being that we live in an out-of-the way place, most people are armed and have guard dogs.. that still doesn't stop would-be intruders. 🤷

September 18, 2020

I was half asleep all day.. couldn't snap out of it..
started the day with prepping our surgery patient.. he was a 'nervous nellie' until his morphine took effect. he still whined and whimpered, but wasn't as paranoid and "flinchy". then I also helped with a few blood draws and nail trims throughout the day. I was able to accomplish more insurance faxes and submitted records. called a couple places again for medical records -- still none came through.

Ronnie had the day off and hung up the kitchen lights..
they were smaller than I expected but they work just fine.. definitely give off enough lighting.
with the lighting covers everything looks green.. blue+yellow=green.. 😖

our surgery patient's mom had requested that she be able to pick him up by 7. so everyone worked quickly to have him ready in time.. and yet, he was still there at 7:45 when it was dark. poor mom..

I worked 11.39 hours.. for a weekly total of 36.93 hours..
11.86 Monday
12.25 Tuesday
  1.43 Thursday

got home and dinner was just ready :)
watched couple of videos on YouTube (Jeb Gardner)..
and then the internet went out :(

September 17th

it was a little difficult to get up this morning. I was enjoying my sleep. we went to bed at around 12:30 (well.. he at 12:01, me at 12:33..) so 7:30 was eArLy! I got up, dressed, fed kitties, and left..

I got to work 8:03 for staff meeting. I had an OSHA topic to cover.. that went pretty well. then the doc went over a few brief items on the agenda before a webinar from Zoetis - that took up the rest of our hour.
as I was prepping paperwork for absent staff members, the doc asked me to prepare a food RX for a client.. so I had to grab that before leaving for the day (since I was not scheduled to work today)

I dropped off some Avon catalogs on my way home from work.. the campaign 21 started yesterday, but I have no books for that. I dropped off campaign 19 and 20.. realizing after-the-fact that I never included the paper slip about extended savings.

once home, I fed and watered the doggies, and gave the chickens some spinach. and fed myself -- I got a Subway breakfast sandwich of bacon, egg, and cheese with tomato and mayo. I ate the bacon and tomato and Ronnie ate the rest ((he added onions and tomato and lettuce.. and more mayo with Tapatio sauce))

I should have stopped by Tecuya to buy some bedding for the chickens and another hanging feeder. I will try to remember Saturday morning (I always remember too late, when they are already closed)

I went back outside with a bucket to carry the heavy bag of construction sand to the chickens.. 50lb takes several trips:
from my car to the side gate..
from the side gate to the top of the side ramp..
from the side ramp to inside the chicken run..
the chickens were happy. I shoveled around their rocks and dirt, leveling things out. then they helped me spread out the 50lb bag of construction sand. I think I still need to "hoe" and "ax" their yard. there are still some solid areas that feel like concrete. I need to break that up so they can dust bathe and ingest some grit.

yesterday Ronnie bought a new chair.. to get it to arrive as soon as possible, he got 1 month of Prime.. so we have 1 month of Amazon Prime to watch :) of course I haven't been able to find too much that I want to watch.. but I have 1 month to find stuff :D

Super 8 (2011)

we got our camera equipment today. tomorrow Ronnie will be working on putting that together. going to Ace for supplies for the kitchen lighting and the surveillance cameras.

tomorrow we have 7 morning appointments then 1 dental (lunch break!) and 5 afternoon appointments.

Wednesday, September 16, 2020

September 16, 2020

I woke up at 11:57.. completely unplanned. I just could not wake up. I was enjoying my sleep.
I semi-cleaned the kitchen today but I've been very depressed all day. Things just aren't going right. I'm slowly running out of money. and I bought a "new" cell phone that refuses to work -- it's even worse than the one I already have (and there is a reason I am trying to replace it.. quickly..)

I think I should start working on my pet first aid kits.. are they first aid kits? or emergency kits? it is kind of the same thing in a way. but i'll need to determine how I will "market" them..
then there is the issue of -- will people buy them? no one seems to buy things from me
not avon..
not tupperware..
not ebay..
I put my money into things, and get nothing out of it
other than debt..

I'm trying to fix the solar lights on the chicken coop. so it won't be so dark out there. one light has decided not to work.. is it the solar panel? or the light itself? I'm not really sure how to find out. I know the light itself has some rust.. or corrosion.. so the connection could be faulty -- or the bulbs have simply burnt out and are no longer..

Ronnie bought a new office chair -- so we get free Amazon Prime for 1 month
he tried to figure out how to reconnect his phone, find the cheapest plan -- but then they did not accept his form of payment (his unemployment debit card.. it has $$$$ on it..)

The Final Cut (2004)

September 15th

I slept pretty well last night, but STILL felt exhausted.. argh..
Sunday I found one of my unused scrubs on the floor.. was odd, but I kinda just let it be. I folded it and put it back on my dresser. then last night, I found the other scrub and pair pants that were originally in the stack with that scrub. THOSE I found UNDER my pillow 😒

today was 12 morning appointments and 8 afternoon appointments, plus 1 admit (Sarah's Sam). 2 morning ones were added in, & 2 afternoon ones were added in from yesterday's agenda for today.

I was able to accomplish a bit more of my own work.. in between appointments, I sent some faxes and records, and processed prescription requests.. I was able to print the Thursday agenda earlier than yesterday.. and got them ready as I was able. I was down to 1 missing file. the doc knew she had it, but I had to find it. so I found it, and she finished writing in it. then I also had to send records on an exam and treatment we had today. but she had to finish writing in that file too. so 12.25 hours later.. after everyone else had already left.. I finally got to go home.
at least i have tomorrow and Thursday off -- but Thursday I have to be up for an 8am meeting (on my day off!)

September 14, 2020

I feel like I got no sleep last night but I do know I did dream (can't remember what it was at this exact moment.. will probably come to me eventually.. randomly..)
Ronnie woke up in the middle of the night. I didn't know he had, but he woke me up when he came back to bed. He climbed into the side of the bed where I was sleeping (at the EDGE of the bed) hugging Dude. He had his head at the foot of the bed, and his feet at my pillow. Dude jumped out of my arms and I tried to move my way over in bed. I kept asking "what are you doing?" but he was kicking, saying "Gwen move.. move Gwen". I made my way all the way across the bed because as he kicked, he was moving diagonally across the bed. Both Gwen and Charlie did not understand what was going on so they were lying on top of me, part way on my head and face. so I ended up at the EDGE of the opposite side of the bed. Ronnie did eventually turn himself the right way around.

it was an exhausting day with a walk-in emergency to start off our Monday. we had scheduled 10 morning appointments and 4 afternoon appointments. we ended up with the emergency + 12 "morning" appointments, a 20-minute break, and then 6 afternoon appointments. It was 99.999999 % blood pulls with quite a few xrays as well. my hands are so cramped from scruffing cats, and holding off a vein.. and I am all-over exhausted from wearing that lead gown and thyroid shield for most of the day -- yes, I did take it off in between, but I feel like it wore it more often than it was actually on the rack..

I really need a break.. a job where I'm not working so hard and so long..
by the time I got to prepare tomorrow's files it was 8:15..
2 employees and the doc left by 8:30
I left at 9:20 for a daily total of 11.86 hours 😩😵😴

and I've noticed that it is taking a toll on Ronnie as well.. he is getting very depressed by being alone for so long.. he has no contact with anyone a) doesn't really have money to leave the house b) covid.
he only has contact with his students for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours in a day..
-strangers.
-on a computer video camera.
-on the other side of the world.
he is truly isolated 😞

September 13th

woke up at 10am! that was a good sleep. it was a little hard to snap out of it.
i dreamed that i lived in an apartment and i, of course, liked finding random "free" stuff. i found tons of things, but couldn't grab everything at once.. and never got to go back for it.
and then i was with jaime at her house, and she was talking with my mom about sewing machines.
and she had horses. and lots and lots of land.. lots of green, green land.

i did a whole lot of nothing today. most of the day was movies 😊
but i did do my laundry.. and fed the kitty kitties.. and cleaned up the kitchen.
I wanted to clean the island counter, but i don't know what to do with anything 😐

September 12, 2020

I had a dream last night that i went to a church service and saw a lady wrestling with a kid with a knife.. it was kind of a chaotic dream because there were people everywhere, not all there for the same reason.. almost like we were invading a restaurant.. then I realized it was 8:49 and I had to get to work.. I was running (as well as you can run in a dream) and someone was chasing me. I was falling all over the place.. slipping in hallways, tripping on carpet -- then I woke up.

I woke up with a sore right tonsil, and sore left knee. I imagine I slept wrong on my knee.. but I assume that the lack-of-working-humidifier was messing with my throat. my knee got better over the course of the day, but my tonsil did not  😟

I woke up around 4, kind of tossing and turning. then woke again around 6:30. I thought Ronnie had gotten up around then. but when I woke back up at 7:47, he was still in bed sleeping. was nice, like a lazy weekend. it sucked that we both had to get up for work 😠

today was a hectic day. our very first appointment said "I've never seen it so quiet"
no! you don't say things like that!
we had 3 emergencies today.. none ended up being life-threatening thankfully.
first was a rottie puppy who ate rat poison.. they were pods -- not loose poison.. but still partially digested.
second was a dog with a had a ruptured anal gland.. bloody butt.
third was a little terrier dog, suspected snake bite.. thankfully just a sticker in the bottom of her foot.

then we all went to lunch for Pinky Poo's 15th birthday.. I was starving, it was past my 5 hours.. then it was over an hour and a half for lunch.. by the time I got back to work it was 4:00 already (that's the time I usually try to get off work on a Saturday) then I was working on controlled substance logs.. fun stuff 😑

September 10, 2020

so I'd bought a "new" phone last week.. when it arrived, it was the wrong phone. I contacted the seller and he told me he'd send the correct phone, with an envelope to mail the wrong one back. the correct one arrived yesterday with an envelope. i packaged the wrong one. ready to mail. the correct one charged overnight (it was at 100% when I got up this morning). when i went to use it, it turned off and was at 88% for 3 hours 😖 argh.. I even tried to switch to a quick charge. when I plugged it back in, it was at 66% for a few hours.. I switched back again and it started at 82%. it finally finished charging at 7:30 (pm).
so.. now I'm not sure any more if it's worth the trouble 😑

September 9th

I had a dream about a backhouse of a place I used to live.. I haven't lived there in 14 years. but I still dream about it.. I've dreamt that I was hiding kittens in there.. I've dreamt that the house was moved and connected to my current house..
last night I dreamt that I was going to 'evict' the cats and put more chickens in there.. only when I got to it, someone had remodeled it into a fancy looking house

I slept until 10am.. wanted to find out how my dream ended.. I keep dreaming about having more cats.. and having more chickens... but it doesn't actually happen.

I don't work tomorrow. I was supposed to, but she changed me to Friday. tomorrow there is 1 single appointment, and 3 of Jaime's cats. the vet is an expert witness in a court case so no more appointments than that. BUT we might be going out to lunch today because it is Jaime's last day 😭

September 8, 2020

9 morning appointments, plus 1 emergency..
8 afternoon appointments, plus 2 employee pets..
I supposed it could have been much worse..

our emergency was a phone call from over the weekend -- 2 year old intact male doggie.
not able to pee.. shaking and vomiting..
they did xrays and emergency surgery.. put in a urinary catheter..
eventually he was able to pass a couple stones..
when his mommy picked him up, he was trotting around like nothing ever happened.

because we are open this Saturday, the vet has rotated who is on, and who is off..
today 1 tech was off, so I was bouncing back and forth between appointments and paperwork..
12.30 hours later I'd finished all my paperwork that I'd set out to do.
someone put another file on my desk as I was leaving, but I can save that for Thursday.
Thursday we have 1 appointment.. one..

September 7th

today is a REALLY smoky day. last night when we went to bed, it smelled like barbecue.. like someone had a dirty grill they were just warming up. when I woke up this morning, it definitely smelled like forest fire. everything is yellow haze, and you can't even see the mountains (hello! I LIVE in the mountains!)

chickens laid 5 eggs today. lavender seems to be giving up on brooding.. fingers crossed..

September 6, 2020

another day of nothingness. I took 1 nap for 3 hours.. wanted to take another. I snuggled with Charlie, then with Dude, then with Charlie, then with Gwen, then with Dude, then with Critter, then with Charlie.

no chicken eggs today. I guess they were boycotting. lavender had some yuck today. really hoping she doesn't go the route of bigg momma. lavender hasn't left the nest in a long while. i have to kick her out all the time. the only thing she really eats is the "schmoo" I bring them. once she's eaten some, she goes back to sitting.

someone tried to push in the door on a house in Frazier. we need to figure out a camera and lighting situation. things are starting to get crazy around here.

September 4, 2020

did NOT want to get up this a.m.
sleep
just want sleep

we scheduled 13 appointments + 1 surgery for today.
we had 15 appointments + 3 admits + 1 surgery + 1 emergency + 1 euthanasia.
the vet's sister called today "quiet"... oh no no no.. you NEVER say the "q" word!

vet's sister found out I have chickens.. she spent the whole day trying to convince me to take Colonel Sanders home.. she basically bought out a Tractor Supply for him, and she said I could take it all home with him.. she even mentioned all his supplies around the vet. vet thought I was legitimately taking him home. then they both kept "reminding" me not to forget my rooster.

cutest little mini-Gwen came in yesterday.. she was an unscheduled walk-in. owners are from LA but renting a cabin up here. little Juno goes for 8-10 mile runs every day (she's a 5# Gwen!), jumped off a rock and broke her leg,... poor little squirt

on Wednesday the neighbor had someone knock on his door (or ring the doorbell?) and then he attempted to try the door knob, and push on the front door.. the guy noticed the ring security camera, and looked in a window before running back to his truck and driving away..he posted on fb, and yesterday his girl posted on fb and they both received several comments..
seems that the guy and his dad (and sometimes a small child) are scoping out "roofing jobs" but at the same time scoping out houses and yards, looking in windows and garages
so.. perhaps there is a connection to our gas cap/gasoline issue.

was a 36-hour work-week for me.
