Memorial Day 2023

so.. since I last posted, my stay-cation ended and I have worked 2 days.
the Friday wasn't too out of the ordinary as far as what had been scheduled. I was surprised to find that DC did know that Sarah would not be there - and yet had a full day of appointments scheduled. then we also had an emergency (rattlesnake bite - twice - on one dog) which made for a very long day.

as I pulled files for Saturday, I knew I would be mostly alone and was very upset to find that it was a full day of appointments as well. we were originally scheduled with 9-6, but she changed to 9-2 so I could attend a 3:00 wedding 70 miles away. Ronnie had planned to leave at 1:30 so I told him to still leave at 1:30 and come by to pick me up - with the intent of getting out of work earlier to go to the wedding. well, that didn't happen.. so he left because I wasn't allowed to leave. I didn't get to leave until 2:30 (half hour before the wedding) but he had our only car. so DC lent me her car. ("I wasn't aware you only had one car") -- so that gives me half an hour to get to a wedding? that wouldn't matter, whether or not I had my own car..

so yes.. I did not make the wedding. but I made the reception.. everyone was surprised because I'd already told them all I could not make it. after the reception we went to his sister's house. it's a beautiful house.

Sunday was a very lazy day. I can't remember doing anything that day..

Monday. Memorial Day! we made a brisket.. nobody else around was barbecuing.. surprising..
